We are a group of local mountain bikers who are currently
working in partnership with landowners to build and maintain
an exciting network of mountain bike trails.
Mountain biking and other outdoor pursuits have increased
hugely in popularity in recent years. As a result, bridleways
have become crowded and conflict has arisen between walkers,
bikers and horse riders. Other un-maintained trails have gradually
become muddy and unrideable.
Our aim is to build a network of sustainable trails across
the Surrey Hills to resolve these problems. This will be achieved
by working closely with landowners and the Surrey Hills AONB.
We plan to:
* Build new trails as an alternative to overcrowded bridleways.
* Rebuild and maintain existing trails that are currently unusable.
All the building work is being carried out according to IMBA
(International Mountain Bike Association) guidelines. These
are designed to ensure fun, sustainable trails that stay mud
free all year round.
