The Aims of Redlands Trails

Written by Redlands Trails, 3rd September 2004
Why are we doing this?

We see that there are a number of benefits to our work, and each person can have there own reasons for taking part, but the main ones are :

To make great trails, that are fun to ride all year round (THE MAIN REASON)

To reduce conflict with walkers by having an alternative to riding on bridleways, and illegally on footpaths – makes using the Surrey Hills more enjoyable for both us and the other users (walkers, horseriders)

To reduce conflict with landowners – building new trails and gaining permission for and properly building existing ones, thereby reducing the increasing danger of a major clampdown in the area.

By building sustainable trails in areas agreed with landowners, we can ride without destroying the area through erosion and habitat invasion.
