It has been necessary to divert the trail near the end.
The diversion was put in for a very good reason; all of us dropping out onto the road at the old trail ending made plenty of
noise, and it was right underneath some very nice people's bedroom window. The hurtwood ranger has now blocked the old ending
and placed signs at the beginning and at the end of the trail. Please respect the changes made.
Over the last year or so, we've taken a serious look at the end of BKB; the fall line was a quick hack by the original builders,
and a not-so-secret-now straightline was put in the trail that avoided the fall line. There were already plans to change the end to
avoid the fall line when Hurtwood came to us with the news that the ending of the trail was going to have to change anyway. When
trailbuilding returns in the autumn the trail is going to be extended by turning it back along the hillside, thus increasing the
length by some margin. If you want to comment on this, post on our forum.
Oh, and yes, we are going to have a pop at the S berms, slowing the entrance and patching up the enormous holes that are appearing in the top berm.
