We've been pretty busy so far this year, so apologies for the slow update. Back on Sunday, 12th February, we carried out the final build on the new (now old) downhill from the beginning of the second section of Summer Lightning.
Work included the levelling of the top left hand berm, which was way too tight to ride fast, and blocking of the resulting flat bit.
The dirt from the berm was used to build up the back of the two stump jumps to make them easier for riders to nose if they mess up the jump in some way.
We also beefed up the big berm downhill of the jumps to make it hold together a bit better and drain a lot better, too.
Other tweaks included a new line to remove two switchbacks that didn't work, rebuilding another switchback line and a few bits and pieces of maintenance on the rest of the trail.
We'll be cleaning up Summer Lightning after all the harvesting on March 12th, so don't forget to tag along!
